The New York State Pistol Permit Safety Course is an eighteen (18) hour course broken into two parts:
Part 1: Range Training & Qualification (2hrs)
Part 2: Classroom Instruction (16 hours)
You must obtain Certificates of Completion for Part1 & Part2 (below) before applying for a concealed carry permit.
The order in which you complete the two parts does NOT matter
though we prefer students attend live fire before the weekend of the 16hr class.
You do NOT need to be a Sportsmen's Club member to attend this course
Our course certificates are good in any NY county.

Your enrollment and participation in the 16 hour New York State Pistol Permit Safety Course does not guarantee that a concealed carry license will be issued to you. Successful completion of the New York State Pistol Permit Safety Course is just one of several requirements for the issuance of a concealed carry license.
An applicant who has successfully complete BOTH parts; the 2-hour Live Fire Training & 16 Hour New York State Pistol Permit Safety Course must submit a complete application packet to the Sheriff’s Office in which he or she requests the issuance of a concealed carry license. Typically, we prefer students to complete the "Live Fire" sessions prior to attending the 16hr course, but it is NOT a requirement. You may complete Live Fire after you attend the 16hr course, if necessary.
